Removing the Ice

At the end of the season, we remove the ice. We start with turning off the chiller, then wait for about 48 hours to let the seal break between the ice and the floor. Once this happens it is easy to chip away and break the ice out. Once ice is out there is major cleanup to be done. The floor needs to be scrubbed and washed. This helps us prepare for when we put ice down in July.

Ice is taken out in order to do projects and updates to the arena. Depending on the year we have different project that run over the summer. Recent projects have been paint and replacing the rubber flooring. We also have dry floor events that come over the summer.
